For construction sites where there is no mains connection or restricted site access, Portable Space Ltd, has designed a bespoke single steel toilet unit complete with waste management tank and site towable water bowser system.

There has been a definite move away from the use of chemical toilets to conventional toilets with full flushing facilities and hot water. However, until now for smaller remote sites without a mains water or waste connection, their options have been somewhat limited.

With the introduction of our single and double toilet units complete with their own waste tank and site towable water bowser, there will be a much greater degree of choice.

The new units are ideal for sites where space to position such facilities is limited. With the single unit, the steel ‘slipper’ tank fits neatly underneath the toilet with a small staircase up to the toilet opening, totalling just 1.25m (4ft) x 3.5m (11ft 6”) including the steps. Moreover, where site access is an issue, the toilet and waste tank can be easily positioned by a forklift as an alternative to a lorry mounted crane.

Fully equipped and immediately ready for use, the self-contained, mains free units are incredibly easy to maintain. An external site gauge informs those on site when the tank is approaching capacity. Portable Space, then takes care of waste collection.

Previously only available on 2+1, 3+1, 4+1, toilet blocks, the single toilets can also be connected to a 250gal site towable water bowser, providing hot water for hand washing whilst enabling full flushing toilets. The bowser can be cheaply and easily towed around on site and filled by nearby stand pipe or hydrant. Alternatively Portable Space can return to site and refill the bowser.

Both the single and double toilet units are made from a galvanised steel sheet, coated on both sides, with PU-foam heat and sound insulated walls. Inside, the unit has a sink with running hot and cold water, mirror, an extractor fan, electric light fitting, and the flushing toilet.
